35-Year-Old Lamp Test Bench at Volkswagen Keeps on Going and Going, Thanks to m+p international.

When we originally built a lamp test bench for the Volkswagen headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany in 1988, we didn't expect it to still be in operation 35 years later! The test bench is used for durability tests of bulb and halogen lamps that are still occasionally needed today. During all these years, m+p international has been reliably providing support and updating the software originally from HP 1000 again and again. The most recent update ensured Volkswagen’s latest safety guidelines are met. To put icing on the cake: Dr. Rainer Oltmann was the responsible VW Project Manager for the lamp test bench when it was first developed. 35 years later, his son Jan, Development Engineer at m+p international, updated the test bench software to Volkswagen’s current requirements. Happy times!
