1. BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLES: ENVIRONMENTAL AND VIBRATION TESTING |
Safety is a key consideration for battery electric vehicles. Batteries are exposed to vibration, mechanical shock, and temperature variations and must be thoroughly tested. With m+p international's advanced solutions for environmental testing and simulation, you can tackle the challenges during operation and in extreme circumstances: The m+p VibControl system along with its digital IO control software accurately simulate real-world mechanical shock and vibration, m+p Analyzer provides comprehensive reporting facilities and the m+p Coda system acts as a standalone data logger. 2. IMPACT TESTING OF A WIND TURBINE BLADE |
The rotor blade diameters of modern wind turbine generators are becoming larger and larger. New challenges arise with regard to structural dynamics. Therefore it is important to determine the resonance frequencies as early as possible in the design phase. A modal test is the only means to account for structural dynamic deviations from the model. A team from m+p international was invited by a wind turbine company to do an impact test of a 60 m long wind turbine blade. m+p Analyzer was used to identify the modal parameters. Read more >> |

3. m+p ANALYZER BASICS: OPERATING DEFLECTION SHAPES (ODS) BY EXAMPLE |
In the last issue of our m+p Analyzer Basics series, we explained the basics of Operating Deflection Shapes. Today we demonstrate how to measure and extract ODS using m+p Analyzer. In the following example we measure the ODS of our rotating demo machine. It is made of a rectangular aluminum base plate onto which a motor and a rotating shaft are mounted. Read more >>

4. LEIBNIZ UNIVERSITY HANNOVER: NEW MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CAMPUS |
Headquartered in Hannover, m+p international has enjoyed a close and decades-long relationship with the faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Leibniz University Hannover. We have been proud to participate in joint projects with the university’s Institute of Dynamics and Vibration Research. On 19 September, the new Mechanical Engineering Campus was officially opened, being the university's largest new construction project. Leibniz University is a member of the TU9, the alliance of nine leading Technical Universities in Germany. Read more >>
